I had a family that came and wanted to look at puppies I had a couple of years ago. They were a young family with a very small child, Garren who was 3 yrs old. A very very cute little boy that was immediately smitten with Ebie. Ebony and Garren just seem to bond immediately. I had never seen Ebony act this way. The couple begged and begged to buy Ebony and wouldn't even look at the puppy. They had just lost their own 13 yr old boxer girl and were so heartsick without a boxer to love. I don't know what made me do it as i never had a plan to part with her. But after watching Garren and Ebony for 2 hrs she just followed him everywhere and tried to get in the car with them. I said take her home for a week and see how it works. Well 3 days later i got a phone call from the boys mother. She said you are never getting Ebony back as she just saved my sons life. I didn't know what to say except what happend? Apparently Garren was outside in their fenced yard playing with Ebony. The mother had to go inside just for a moment. Within minutes Ebie ran through their doggie door into the house and started whining frantically and jumping around, she ran back to the door then back to the mother who said what is wrong ebony? Eb ran through the doggie door back outside like a shot. The mother knew there was something wrong and ran out. She found Garren on the ground with Eb standing over him. He was barely breathing as he was stung by a bee and was having a severe allergic reaction. Garrens mother scooped him up and took him to the hospital where he spent 2 days recovering. Ebony had saved his life by alerting Garrens mother. She stood guard over this little boy while the mother was coming to him. No this mother was not negligent at all in letting the boy outside. Very small fenced yard and windows open and she just stepped in for a moment to get something. She had no idea he was allergic. If Ebony had not been there that day , Garren we feel, would not be here.

She truly is a hero and I miss her very much but this is where she belongs now. To take care of her boy.

WE LOVE YOU EBONY!

Just a note that Ebonys daughter Birchwoods Blazing Hailstorm also is a hero as she saved her little boys life by keeping him away from a tub of water. She stood between the boy and the water trying to push him back until the boys mother got to him. Like mother like daughter!
